In the context of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (UNESCO 2003), an event takes place on Sunday, November 5 at 18:30 in Aspropyrgos, which is a tribute to the woman farmer of the region and the role she plays in the development and preservation of the cultural heritage of Aspropyrgos. An area that perhaps few people know that it continues, alongside its post-industrial characteristics, to be a rural area.

The event is organized by the researcher and visual artist Emilia Bouriti "Artistic Platform Syn+Ergasia " and the international program "Amoli" in collaboration with the Agricultural Association of Aspropyrgos and is presented under the auspices and support of the Ministry of Culture.
Specifically, at the event which takes place on November 5, 2023 at 18.30, two elderly women farmers, Μrs. Katerina Dara - Hatzi and Katerina Ilia and the farmer Mrs. Eleni Issari, talk about the rural-animal husbandry in Aspropyrgos. The Agricultural Association of Aspropyrgos and its members participate as well.

In the same evening an award ceremony for the above women farmers take place as part of the "World Farmers' Day", which was established by the UN to be celebrated on 15 October and due to the elections the celebration was moved to 5 November.

The event underlines the value of the Aspropyrgian woman farmer who has watered the land with her sweat and the development of the city has been based mainly on her own labor!
The evening is accompanied by discussions, narratives, Arvanitic songs and visual screenings.

As well as the rural landscape as a powerful cultural asset, and the rural practices that accompany it.
